Ernest E. Gloede, 89, of Beaumont died Friday, March 5, 2010 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Ernest was born December 6, 1920 in Port Neches, Texas to Ernest and Zenobia Gloede. He retired after 29 years as a supervisor with Temple Inland and was a member of St. Anthony’s Basilica in Beaumont. Ernest was a Vidor High School Graduate, Class of 1939. Ernest was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Beaumont three years ago and served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. A funeral liturgy outside mass will be celebrated Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation and a rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home. Ernest was preceded in death by his first wife of 59 years Lorene Baker Gloede, parents Ernest and Zenobia, daughters Kathleen Ann Moore, and Linda Kay Goins, sister Ruby Schnity. He is survived by his wife Opal Gloede of Beaumont, TX, sons Ernest E. Gloede, Jr and his wife Tammy of Vidor, TX, Raymond Baker and his Wife Janet of Colmesneil, TX, daughters Eileen Gloede Cook and her husband Louis of Crystal Beach, TX, Donna Baker Coleman and her husband Linny of Buna, TX, sister Velma Clark of Vidor, TX, 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
