Addie Madeline Romero

Addie Madeline Eaves Romero passed from this life, at the age of 94, at home surrounded by her family, on March 6th, 2015. She was born on April 1st, 1920 in Gist, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turning Point Church, 3600 N. Main St., Vidor, Texas. Services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Turning Point Church. Addie was the fourth child and first girl born to Ada and Luther Eaves and was from a family of seventeen, twelve boys and five girls. She loved and was proud of her heritage and being a part of such a large family. She met and married the love of her life, Ryan Romero. They celebrated their 76th anniversary last October 3rd. Addie was also known as Sister, Sarah, Aunt Blondie, Granny and Old Granny. Her children and family came first in her life. She was a true example of what a mother should be. She raised six children and many times took in other children from friends and family. Her door and heart was always open to anyone that came into her home. She was a master cook and seamstress and loved to quilt. She canned and preserved shelves of vegetables and fruits from their bountiful garden. Addie had a yard full of plants and flowers nurtured by her "green thumb". She love animals of all kinds and could nurse a sick one back to health with her loving , gentle care. Addie was preceded in death by her beloved first-born son, Carlos Lane, her parents, 8 brothers, 3 sisters. She is survived by her husband, Ryan Romero, daughters, Ann Mooney, husband Jimmy, Diane Killough, husband Jim, and Debbie Nagel, sons, Wesley Romero, wife Linda, Dewey Lee Romero, wife Margarita, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 1 sister, Sue Doiron, 4 brothers, Nig Eaves, Wendy Eaves, Joe Eaves, and Larry Eaves special friend, Beverly McDonald, many nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be: Lane Mooney, Darrin Mooney, Brady Nagel, Kasey Killough, Matt Mueller, Van Croft, Randy Eaves, Honorary pallbearer, Robert Payne. A special thank you and appreciation to Harbor Hospice, nurse, Tracy Marlow, nurses-aid Alicia, and Hospice Chaplain, Watson Franks for all their love, special care and attention given to our mother. Thank you to George Gau and Turning Point Church for hosting the celebration of Addie Romero's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
