Alfred 'Al' Carlton Gentry

August 19, 1927 — April 21, 2014

Al C. Gentry, 86, of Vidor died Monday, April 21, 2014 at his residence in Vidor. Al was a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. He was a Vidor High School graduate and was an avid Vidor Pirate Football Fan. Al was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vidor. He was a longtime member of the O.C.A.W. Local Union in Beaumont and retired after 30 years as a Senior Process Operator with P.P.G and P.D.G in Beaumont. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Al is preceded in death by his brother Jessie Gentry and sisters Virginia Williams, Lea Ila Cargill and Melba Deville. He is survived by his wife Ethel Pauline Gentry, son Chip Gentry and his wife Peggy, daughter Lynda Lyons and her husband Will, brothers James Gentry and Milton Gentry all of Vidor, TX, 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
