Benton Lee Sherrod Sr

Benton Lee Sherrod Sr., 82, of Vidor died May 9, 2009 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A native of Shreveport, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Benton was a pastor in Louisiana and Texas.He graduated from East Texas Baptist University and recieveda masters degree in Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Vidor, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation was held Monday, May 11, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Vidor. Benton is survived by his wife Tommie McGraw Sherrod, sons Ben Sherrod, Jr and his wife Jenni, Bobby Sherrod and his wife Debi, and Bill Sherrod all of Vidor, TX, daughter Beth Patten and her husband Carl of Orange, TX, grandchildren Ben Sherrod III, Beau Sherrod, Jessica Sherrod Beall, Robby Sherrod, Abbi Sherrod Narramore, Brock Sherrod, Brice Sherrod, Caleb McKee, Carrie McKee, Jessica Patten Haislip, Elizabeth Patten Tyson and 4 great-grandchildren.
