Bessie Lelar Smith

Bessie Smith, 82, of Vidor, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Baptist Hospital of SE Texas in Beaumont. A native of Orangefield, TX, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Bessie was a retired cafeteria worker with Pineforest Elementary in Vidor. She spent the later days of her life as a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Bessie was preceded in death by 1 grandchild and 2 great great grandchildren. She is survived by her sons Buddy Smith and his wife Sue, Ricky Smith all of Vidor, TX, Glen Smith and Janet of Beaumont, TX, Hank Smith of Orangefield, TX, Tony Smith and his wife Emily of Vidor, TX, daughter Linda Burnett, Diann Whitworth and her husband Les, Judy Collier all of Vidor, TX, brother Raymond Davis of Vidor, TX, sister Rosalee Jiminez of Beaumont, TX, 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 6 great great grandchild.
