Betty Jane Broussard

Betty J. Broussard, 73, of Vidor died Monday, December 12, 2011 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. She was born in Beaumont on March 11, 1938, where she lived most of her life until the last 3 ½ years when she moved, with her husband, to Vidor. She graduated from South Park High School and was a member of the “Greenies”. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in China, for many years where she was a lecturer and a Eucharistic minister before moving to Vidor. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor once she moved. She loved people and never met a stranger. She loved to help the elderly and to have a house full of family members. Her first love was dancing until her grandchildren came along. She was a very talented lady and loved to sew and she handmade baby dolls. She loved to do crafts and was very good at anything she put her mind to. Her smiling face and her love and her devotion will be missed by everyone who knew her. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Friday, December 16, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at China Cemetery in China, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and a rosary at 7:00 pm Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Betty is survived by her husband Kenneth James Broussard, daughters Elizabeth Parks and her husband Harold, Dee Dee Fuller and her husband Rodney, grandchildren Brian Parks, Chantell Ramber and her husband Aaron, Ronnie Parks, Wesley Parks and Victoria Parks, great-grandchild Haley Erin Ramber, brothers Lawrence Miller, Billy Joe Miller and his wife Joyce, William Miller and his wife Joyce, Wilbert Miller and his wife Joyce, sisters Ethel Foux and Bessie Fontenot and numerous nieces and nephews.
