Betty Jean Astley, 84 a longtime resident of Vidor died Thursday, November 12th, 2015 in Muscatine, Iowa. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and employed by Goodman's Jewelry for many years. Betty liked to do ceramics and playing the piano and will be greatly missed. She is survived by a son, Dennis and his wife Tammy Burr Astley of Muscatine, Iowa, 6 grandchildren, Dana Nies, Anthony Fleming, Ryan Astley, Alex Astley, Sean Astley, Emily Astley and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Rufus Weatherford of Zavala, TX and James Weatherford of Pt. Arthur, 1 sister, Margaret Williamson of Vidor and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Donald Astley, 2 sons, Donald Edward Astley and James Lynn Astley along with 3 brothers. Visitation will be Monday, November 16, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
