Betty A. Wallace, 77, of Vidor went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 2, 2015 at her residence. A native of Vicksburg, MS, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Betty was a retired teacher from VISD. She taught at Vidor Elementary School and Vidor Middle School for 15 years. She received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Lamar University in Beaumont. Betty was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and was an avid gardner, reader and crocheting. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 6, 2015 at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Albert Carden and Virgie Holt, sister Theresa McCoppin and brother John Holt. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Ray Wallace, daughters Terri Herring and her husband Martin, Mona Dawson and her husband Jim, Lisa Tristan and her husband Ariel all of Vidor, TX, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
