Binnie A. Parrish King

Binnie Parrish King passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May, 9th, 2022 surrounded by her family and many grandchildren. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor as well as a lifelong member of New Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Gist, TX. Binnie spent many years as a devoted homemaker. She loved to cook, sew, quilt, attend quilt shows, collect thimbles, work jigsaw puzzles, and tend her flowers. She loved to travel with her cousin Donna Harris and spend time with each other. She also enjoyed attending church services at NCGB, and spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. The visitation will be on Saturday, May 14th, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Eaves Cemetery in Buna, TX. Binnie is survived by her children: Sherry Hommel and her husband David of Woodville, TX, Gary King and his wife Natalie of Mauriceville, TX, her siblings: David Parrish and his wife Janie of Junction, TX, her sister Linda Parrish Ballard and her husband Herbert of Ragley, LA. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren: Amanda Hommel Smith, Ellea Hommel, Abby Hommel, Birknesh Hommel, Selah Hommel, Symone Hommel, Marina Hommel, Emuye Hommel, Jessica Hommel, Katherine Hommel, Andrew King, Thomas King, Simon Hommel, Ethan Hommel, Joseph Hommel, Tariku Hommel, Cannon Hommel, Benjamin Hommel, Kevin Hommel, Oleg Hommel, Illya Hommel, and Kolya Hommel, and three great-grandchildren: Jordyn Smith, Layla Smith and Spencer Wooten, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jon King, her parents Buford Ben Parrish and Hortense Carr Parrish, her grandson Adam Hommel, her sisters, Gerri Parrish Garsee, Wanda Parrish Harrelson, and Mary Parrish Austin, and her brother-in-law Sidney Austin III.
