Carl Bernard Sims

June 8, 1925 — October 8, 2010

Carl B. Sims, 85, of Vidor died Friday, October 8, 2010 at his residence. A native of Kirbyville, he has lived in Vidor for 57 years. He was a retired safety patrol with DuPont-Beaumont for 33 years, he also owned Ginnys Florist with his wife, Pat for 30 years. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Carl was a Sunday School teacher and Deacon in the First Baptist Church of Vidor for over 50 years. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home. Carl is survived by his wife of 57 years Pat Sims of Vidor, daughters Pam Jaetzold and husband Jeff of Vidor, Linda Baran and husband Sanford of Boulder, CO., Sheryl Quave and Armando Carmona of Vidor, Jennifer LeBlanc and husband Kelly of Magnolia, TX., brother Rev. Versie Sims of Jasper, sisters Reba Dove of Call, TX., and Jeanette McWhartor of Pasadena, TX., six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. When he went home to be with the Lord, he was at his house surrounded by his loved ones. The Sims family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice for their wonderful, loving care during our time of need.
