Carol Higdon Petry

Carol Higdon Petry, 75, of Vidor, died Friday, September 10th, 2021 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. She was born and raised in Kentucky but was a longtime resident of Vidor and was a member at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor. She loved tending to her flower garden, and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Carol and Pete would take biweekly trips to Austin to see her grandchildren and to spend time with Misty, and also they would take a annual trip to Kentucky to see her family that lives up there. She was kind, faithful, devoted, and loved by all who knew her. Carol was a loving wife, mom, mamaw, sister, and friend, and she will be dearly missed. Her visitation will be Monday, September 13, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Vidor. Interment will be Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Houston National Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Robert "Pete" Petry of Vidor, TX, children Bruce Petry of Sulphur, LA, Misty Petry Burns of Austin, TX, and Justin Petry Brownwood, TX, brothers Colin Higdon of Louisville, KY and Charles "Bo" Higdon of Lebanon Junction, KY, sisters Sharron Fey of Louisville, KY, Dixie Weafer of Newburgh, IN, Norma Gibson of Louisville, KY, and Norene Crady of Louisville, KY, 4 grandchildren: Taylor, Kristen, Lauren, and Kyle Burns all of Austin, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Lupus Research Alliance.
