Charles B. Raley, Sr

January 22, 1933 — September 30, 2005

Charles B. Raley, 72, of Vidor died Friday, September 30, 2005 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches, TX. A native of Houston, he has lived in Vidor since 1954, and was owner-operator of Wasson Radiator Shop for many years in Beaumont. During his life Mr. Raley and his Barbque team, “The Juicy Bunch Cookers” entered and placed in many cook-offs throughout Southeast Texas. He was a proud member of the VFW Post #8246, and the American Legion #33 in Beaumont. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, TX all under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2005 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Peggy J. Raley. He is survived by his sons Charles B. Raley, Jr of Dayton, TX., and Jeremy Raley of Vidor, daughter, Cheryl Maldonado of Katy, TX., sisters, Barbara McManus of Crystal Beach, TX., Darlene Tillery of Beaumont, and Marlene Leger of Vidor, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, and his pride and joy the chihuahua Ms. Elle.
