Clara Stillwell, 82, of Vidor was born on July 27, 1924 to James and Clarissa Hill in Bexar County, Texas. A native of Bexar County, she has lived in Vidor for 41 years, and was a housewife, and a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 33 years, where she served as Chaplain and Conductor, as well as other offices. She had previously lived in Beaumont for 23 years until 1966 when Lamar University bought the family home in order to expand and build new dorms and buildings. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Clarissa Hill, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband who she married on November 6, 1939 at the age of 15, some 67 years ago Wilson B. “WB” Stillwell, Sr., of Vidor, her sons Roy D. Stillwell of Vidor, Ralph B. Stillwell of Slagle, LA., Wilson B. Stillwell, Jr., and Terry L. Stillwell both of Burkeville, TX., seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
