Clyde Dixon Elliott

Clyde D. Elliott, 80, of Vidor died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at his residence. Born June 5, 1930 in Houston, to the late Jean and Elma Lorraine Elliott. He grew up in LaPorte, TX where he graduated from high school in 1948. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Later he attended the University of Houston and Lamar University in Beaumont where he received his degree in communication in 1991. He was a body shop manager at Kinsel Ford in Beaumont for many years and store manager for Beaumont Auto Color. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor where he was a member of the open door Sunday school class. Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents Jean and Elma Elliott, brother Jean Fred Elliott, sister Helen Sharp, and his daughter Rhonda E. Gray. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Frances Ray Hill Elliott of Vidor, sons Duncan Elliott and wife Catherine of Houston, John Hill and wife Beth of San Antonio, and Steven Hill of Kirbyville, daughters Kara Betsy Elliott of Houston, Andrea Nelson and husband Tom Word of Austin, Patti Gilbert and husband Jack of Vidor, Le Savarese of Arlington, sister Leslie Levack of LaPorte, Nancy Ludtke and husband Buddy of Palestine, sister-in-law Mary Corley and husband Robert of Trinity, TX., fifteen grandchildren: Lema Boeck and husband Max of San Antonio, Jenifer Hargrove and Chris Sivadjian of Arlington, Jeremy Hargrove and wife Lindsey of Los Angeles, CA., Adam Gray and wife Kat of San Francisco, CA., Kelly Gray of Austin, Shaun Chesser and Taylor Chesser and wife Stephanie of Vidor, Chris and Nicholas Nelson of Austin, Jamie and Jackson Savarese of Arlington, Duncan Hollis Elliott of Houston, Kolby and Kourtney Gilbert of Vidor, great grandchildren: Alex Hill, William, Sophia and James Boeck of San Antonio, Charlotte Sivadjian and Emma Rowe of Arlington, Carson Chesser of Vidor, and Kristine of Vidor, and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Texas Total Care and Altus Hospice for their loving care during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Choir Fund, 500 N, Main St., Vidor, Texas 77662 or American Heart Association, 1125 Judson Rd., Longview, Texas 75601.
