David Alan Echols

David Alan Echols, 61, died Saturday, July 16th, 2016 at home. A native of Edinburg, TX he was a longtime resident of Vidor. David was in the air conditioning and heating business as a HVAC technician and also worked as a general handyman. He was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Vidor for 31 years, since 1985. He liked to play the guitar, was known as very giving and never said no to people who needed his help and had a good sense of humor. David touched lives all over the Golden Triangle. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Vidor. David is survived by his wife, Vickie Echols of 41 years, 2 sons, David and his wife Angie Jarrell of Slidell, LA, and David Carroll and his wife Jennifer Echols of Lumberton, TX, 1 daughter, Katrina and her husband Trey Frazier of Orange, TX. He is also survived by his mother, Merna Segien and stepfather Bill of Vidor, TX, 3 brothers, Steve Echols of Vidor, TX, Danny Echols of The Woodlands, TX and Michael Echols of Livingston, TX, 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Carroll Echols. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Benoit's Lewis Hall Event Center at 3085 Hwy 12 in Vidor from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
