David Ross Sistrunk

David Ross Sistrunk, 57, of Vidor passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Beaumont, TX on December 12, 1953 and was a longtime resident of Vidor. He graduated from Vidor High School in 1972 and was employed at Gerdau Ameristeel for 33 years. He attended Community Church in Orange, TX. David was preceded in death by his father William Dean Sistrunk and his mother Helen Clara Sistrunk. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Iris Johnson Sistrunk, twin daughters Denise Blake Sistrunk of Beaumont, TX and Devin Brooke Sistrunk of Vidor, TX, brother Dennis Sistrunk and wife Vicki of Nederland, TX, sister Gloria Sistrunk and husband Ronnie Breckenridge of Cedar Park, TX, and a host of extended family, friends, and co-workers. Cremation was entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1 p .m. at Benoit\'s Louis Hall, 3085 Hwy 12, Vidor, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in David\'s name to Community Church, 3400 Martin Luther King Drive, Orange, TX 77632. The family would like to thank Texas Home Health Hospice for the compassionate care he received.
