Dick Edward Turner, 77, a longtime resident of Vidor died Monday, March 30th, 2015 in Pt. Arthur, TX. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 20 years of service. Dick also worked for the Beaumont Housing Authority in the maintenance department for 10 years. He enjoyed spending time in his garden but he was especially fond of spending quality time with his grandsons. Dick is survived by his daughter, Jessie Gooch and husband James "Jimmy" of Vidor, step-daughter, Frankie Steele, 2 grandsons, Jason and Jerrod Gooch and ex-wife and loving friend, Velma Turner. He is also survived by a neice, Dinah Mitchell, nephew, Nathan "Butch" Addison and a sister-in-law, Sue Turner. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dora Turner, 2 sisters, Fannie Lou Turner and Gail Addison, and one brother, Gilbert Turner. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
