Dorthia Alice Reid

Dorothy Reid, 94 of Vidor died Thursday, August 9th, 2018 at her residence. A native of Newark, Ohio, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Dorothy enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing. She could be seen often working on the ranch with her husband of 37 Cecil W. Reid. Dorothy was a great cook, but most of all she loved to play canasta. She was a member of the neighbors club. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 13, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Dorthia survived by her son Kenneth Wayne Reid and his wife Beverly of Nederland, TX, daughters Shirley Johnson and her husband Charles of Vidor, TX, Beverly Johnson and her husband Timothy of Kingwood, TX, brother Raymond Marlow of Vidor, TX and Garland Marlow of Lumberton, TX, 7 grandchildren Tammy Reid, Chris Reid, Lisa Hambrick, Randy Reid, John Johnson, Heather Burge and Keith Johnson, , 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Bessie Marlow, husband Cecil W Reid, son Robert E. Reid, sisters Ester Poss, and Betty Majors, brothers Robert Marlow, George Marlow, Ralph Marlow and Stanley Marlow Sr.
