E. J. Wood

E. J. Wood, 73, of Vidor died Friday, August 14, 2009 at Promise Hospital in Nederland, TX. A native of Jasper, TX., he has lived in Vidor for 39 years and was a retired maintenance technician with Dupont . He served his country in the United States Army. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home. E J was preceded in death by his parents Elvin and Audria Wood, brother Burtice Wood, sisters Nelda Harris and Emma Herring. He is survived by his wife Shirley Wood of Vidor, sons George Bishop of Vidor, and Thomas Wood of Granberry, TX., daughters Renee Pomonis of Beaumont, and Lori Park of Vidor, brother Jack Wood of Vidor, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchildren.
