Ellen Estelle Crump

Ellen “Estelle” Crump, 82, of Vidor, passed away Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 at Christius St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. She was born to the late Fate and Mozelle Sanders on December 8th, 1938 in Kentwood, LA. She married her husband, Raleigh in 1956 and began a 20+ year journey traveling the world as a USAF family. Upon his retirement in 1976, they made Vidor their new home. She retired from Vidor ISD after many years as an aide/secretary at Vidor Elementary and Vidor Junior High. She lived to care for others and help people in anyway she could. That was evident in the many committees she served on. She was a “lady” in every aspect, kind, gentle, loving and beautiful. Even in the end, she was working to take care of people as best as she could. She was a 49 year active member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. The last few years of her life, she was able to travel and mark off of her bucket list, Alaskan Cruise, Niagara Falls, and The Ark Encounter. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, September 10th, 2021 and funeral will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 11th, 2021 all at Pine Forest Baptist Church, Vidor. She is survived by daughter, Anita (Larry) Reece of Vidor, son, Jody (Marilyn) Crump of Vidor. She is also survived by grandchildren Cassandra (Tad) Sands of Vidor, Dr. Travis (Vinh) Reece-Nguyen of Palo Alto, CA, Dusty (Theresa) Crump of Leander, Nathan Crump (Fiancé, Sydney) of Houston, Lydia (Justin) Brown of Vidor, Gideon (Hannah) Crump of Beaumont, Lorraine (Anthony) Herring of Vidor, Dominic Crump, Lana Crump, Linka Crump and Abel Crump all of Vidor, as well as 8 great grandchildren: Chloe and Allie Sands, Myla Reece-Nguyen, Lyla and Samuel Brown and Addison, Elliott and Cora Crump. She is also survived by sister, Judy Alford of Tupelo, MS, brother Kenneth (Aleisa) Sanders of Vidor, and sister-in-law Elaine Deloney of Beaumont. She also had numerous nieces and nephews that thought highly of her. Estelle was preceded in death by her parents Fate and Mozelle Sanders, her husband of 58 years, Raleigh Crump, and grandson Caleb Crump.
