Fred Horn Kennedy, Jr.

Fred H. Kennedy, 68, of Vidor died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Renaissance Hospital in Groves, TX. A native of Nederland, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Fred was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator with the Operators Local Union #450 and #12. He served his country in the US Air Force and was a member of First Baptist Church of Orangefield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemeteryin Nederland, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Fred is survived by his wife of 49 years Carol Kennedy, daughters Phyllis OConner of Valleyview, TX, Dana Kennedy of Port Neches, TX, Shelly Melancon of Vidor, TX, Tammy Kennedy of Upland, CA, Leslie Smith of Vidor, TX, brothers James Kennedy of Pasadena, TX, Roland Kennedy of Nederland, TX, sister Joann Buff of Groves, TX, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
