George Edward Syfrett

George Edward Syfrett, a pillar of the Vidor community, passed away on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, at the age of 82, surrounded by loved ones at his home. George was a devout Christian and a beloved figure in Vidor, where he resided for many years.

He dedicated over 30 years of his life to Trinity Industries before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. George had a passion for carpentry and was known for his skill in building things. He had a generous spirit and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

George had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He enjoyed playing the banjo and guitar, as well as engaging in his hobby of shooting, particularly quick draw, where he was known as the fastest. He found solace in nature, especially in watching the moon, and delighted in feeding the squirrels.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, followed by interment at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor.

George is survived by his eight children, his brother Eddison Syfrett of Florida, his sister Ruth Barfield of Buna, TX, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patrcia Syfrett. George Edward Syfrett will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
