Gerald Lynn Warner

Gerald Lynn Warner passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beaumont. He was born July 18, 1926, in Bessmay, Texas, to Cleveland (Cleve) and Mae Warner. He attended public schools in Buna, Texas, served in the U. S. Army Air Corps, attended Cheneir Business College, worked for the VA, and retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 1981 after 34 years of dedicated service. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Cecil Warner, and sisters, Audrey Gossett and Velma Lois McDonald. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jewel Laverne (Ware) Warner, sons, Donald L. Warner and wife Joan of Mesquite and Richard A. Warner and wife Cherie of Orange, daughter, Nancy Carreon and husband Gabriel of Beaumont, brother, Bobby G. Warner of Wedgefield, SC, six grandchildren, five great-granddaughters, and numerous loving extended family members. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011, 6:-8: p.m., at Memorial Funeral home of Vidor. Funeral Service will be at 2: p.m., Sunday, January 16, 2011, also Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, 1750 TX Hwy. 12, Vidor, TX 77662. Internment will be at 4: p.m., Sunday, at Watson Chapel Cemetary (TX State Historical Sight), Watson Chapel United Methodist Church, Bleakwood, TX. The family would like to thank the caring staffs of Emeritus at Dowlen Oaks (Assisted Living Center), Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (Regency/Beaumont) and Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, who faithfully took care of our loved one for the past two years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.

Cemetery:
4:00 p.m. at Watson Chapel Cemetery in Bleakwood, TX.

Visitation:
6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home

Service:
2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home.
