Glenda Sharon Jones

Glenda Sharon Jones, 85, of Vidor, died on Monday, January 23rd, 2023 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong champion for gospel music.

She traveled extensively singing and ministering the word of God. She never met a stranger and touched many lives. She loved her big bus, motorcycles, and fishing. She enjoyed her backyard with all the wild birds and flowers. She was adventurous, there was nothing she wouldn't try, even going as far as to skydive and parasail. She was a fun loving friend, a woman of God who loved life and made the very most of it. She was passionate about baking and cooking and was an accomplished cake designer. Glenda had a full and extraordinary life although she will be missed we are happy she is at peace, rejoicing in the Kingdom of the Lord with her beloved Wayne.

Visitation for Glenda will be Friday, January 27, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Her services will be Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

She is survived by her daughter Vicki Jones and husband Paul Saunders, son Ricky Jones, granddaughter Laura and husband Jason Holder, great-great grandchildren: Easton, Melanie and Cameron Holder and Brianna Griggs, great-great grandson Montrey Pennington, siblings: Regina Fullenwider, Robert and wife Dee Adams, Charles and wife Delinda Adams, nieces Deanna Yega, Stephanie Byrd, and Rebecca Thurston.

She was preceded in death by her husband Everett W. Jones, daughter Brenda Jones Dougharty, granddaughters Jessica Lynn Jones and Cherie Kay Trahan, sister Shirley McFaul.

Glenda has been blessed to have some of the most loving and capable ladies as her caregivers. No words can express how much the family appreciates the many ways they cared for their mom. Natasha Mansfield, Dorothy DeMary, Juanita Patten, Tehard Colomb, Carol Wolfe, and Christina Stubbs were truly a blessing to our family.
