Gurney Adam Wright

April 23, 1927 — May 14, 2005

Gurney A. Wright, 78, of Vidor died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Sulphur, Louisiana he has lived in Vidor for 25 years, and was a retired tugboat captain, and proudly served his country in the United States Army. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2005 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Gurney is survived by his daughter, Darlene Wright of Vidor, brothers, James Wright of Beaumont, and Alfred Wright of China, TX., sisters, Ethel Smith of Vidor, and Betty Schmidt of Gonzales, LA., two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thank you to The Vidor Manor Nursing Home nurse’s, and staff for the special care of our brother for the last nine years.
