Gus Larry Singer, Jr.

July 4, 1946 — August 21, 2017

Gus Larry Singer Jr. age 71, passed away on August 21st 2017 at his home in Vidor, Texas.
Born on July 4th 1946 to Ruby Margaret Gloede Singer and Augustus “Gus” Singer in Beaumont, Texas. Larry was a graduate of Vidor High School and Lamar Institute of Technology. His career in the Oil Field Industry allowed him to travel and see the world. Larry later returned and worked with Trinity Marine Industries, Bethlehem Steele, and CB&I where he retired.
Larry’s passions included feeding family and friends out of his well-tended garden, where he spent many hours laboring in the soil and enjoyed bee keeping with his brother-n-law, Phillip McFarland. There also wasn’t a day that went by where you wouldn’t find him in some political banter with friends and family on social media. He always tried to get you to see it from a different point of view. If you were ever in need, you could always find Larry sitting at the back porch ready and willing to help.
Larry is survived by his son, Larry “Trip” Singer and daughter-in-law Donna. Larry also leaves behind his granddaughters Taylor Phillippe and Ashlan Landry and his beloved great granddaughters, Arroyln Rose and Noah Grace. Larry was dearly loved by his sister Carol McFarland and his two brothers Eddy and Michael Singer. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews whom Larry loved as his own children.
Funeral Services are set for Friday, September 1, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor. Visitation starts at 5:00pm and Services start at 7:00pm.
Larry will always be in our hearts and never far from our thoughts. You will be forever loved and missed. Sitting on the back porch will never be the same without you. Larry, Pops, Poppa Larry, Uncle Larry, Dad… We love you.
