Hazel Ruth Mcmellon

Hazel R. McMellon, 65, of Austin died Friday, July 30, 2010 at St. Davids Medical Center in Austin, TX. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime Vidor resident before moving to Austin 2 years ago. She was a Volunteer firefighter with the Vidor Fire Department. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with cremation to follow at Haven of Rest in Orange, TX. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home. Hazel was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Allene English. She is survived by her son Wayne McMellon of Canton, MI., daughter Peggy McMellon of Round Rock, TX., brothers William "Bill" English of Lumberton, and Johnny English of Kountze, sisters Mary Lou Howell of Shreveport, LA., Virginia "Ginny" Taylor of Vidor, Margaret "Peggy" Joiner of Austin, Dorothy "Dotty" DeWitt of Vidor, two grandchildren: Nicholas "Nick" McMellon, and Benjamin "Benji" McMellon.
