Helen Marie Gillis

Helen Gillis, 82, of Vidor died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at her residence. A native of Bunker Hill, Louisiana she has lived in Vidor since 1950, and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Fountain Cemetery in Starks, LA., all under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Monday, October 4, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with all day visitation on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at the Church. Helen is survived by her daughters, Sue Ripka of Kountze, TX., and Enid Jenkins of Vidor, TX., eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren, with all grandsons serving as honorary pallbearers. Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Enoch Gillis, daughter, Wilma Davis, and great grandson, Asa Davis.
