Helen Palmer Burford, 98, of Vidor, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 . She was born in Beaumont on November 8th, 1923. She was a a graduate of Vidor High School in 1940. She retired from Lamb's Office Supply. She also volunteered at Baptist Hospital for over 26 years. She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Vidor where she served on the Kitchen Team, Building Committee and other areas. She was a member of the Joy Club and the Glory Singers. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Her heart was to minister to others, especially other widows. She loved going to the beach and playing games, especially hand and foot. She loved to travel as well. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. There will be a visitation, Monday, September 26th, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Vidor From 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 27th, 2022 also at First Baptist Church of Vidor. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas. Helen was preceded in death by her husband O.C. "Bud" Burford, brother Charles Palmer, sister Bobbie Beth, mother Lillie Mae Wilson, and father John Calvin Palmer. She is survived by her son Randy Burford of Vidor, TX, and her daughter by another mother Bettye Leslie as well as two grandchildren, Jason Burford and wife Janelle, and Trent Burford and wife Kim and 4 great grandchildren: Kai, Ayla, Brinkley, and Claire Burford, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to The First Baptist Church of Vidor elder care fund.
