Huey Long Cox, Sr.

Huey L. Cox, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 2, 2006 after a long illness. A native of Shelby County, TX., he has lived in Vidor for 49 years, and was a retired tollboard repeaterman for S.B.C. Telephone Co in Beaumont after 371/2 years of faithful service. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lockwood Sr, and Ruby Cox, brother L.C. Cox, Jr, and sister, Eva Gray. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Peggy Cox of Vidor, sons, Huey L. Cox, Jr., and Kenneth W. Cox both of Vidor, daughter, Sherrie L. McDonald of Vidor, sister, Laverne McCray of Orange, three grandchildren: Brandie G. Concienne and her husband Wes of Dallas, TX., Kristyn A. Query, and Derek L. Cox both of Vidor, and one great grandchild Brianna N. Concienne of Dallas, TX., and numerous nieces and nephews.
