James Allen Sims

James Allen Sims, 76 died on Friday, December 25th, 2015 in Beaumont. He was a longtime resident of Vidor and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. James was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, woodworking, sports and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved to spend time with his family but especially his grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, December 27, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Monday, December 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. James is survived by his wife, Brenda Sims of 48 years, 3 sons, Scott Sims of Vidor, Stacy Sims and wife Jill of Lumberton, and Steve Sims and wife Pam of Vidor, and daughter, Stephanie Springs and husband Benny of Vidor. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 1 brother, Frank Sims and 3 sisters, Sharon Green, Edith Novack and Nina Ruth DeChaume. James was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Sims and Edna Atwood, and a sister, Martha Sims.
