James E. Welch, 77, of Vidor died Monday, June 20, 2005 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. A native of Shamrock, LA., he was a retired composing room superintendent after 40 years of faithful service with the Beaumont Enterprise News Paper, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy, during WWII. Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor all under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Alma Welch, son, Marshall Thompson, brothers, Clarence Roy Welch, and J.D. Welch, sisters, Retha Welch Scarbrough, and Sadie E. Welch. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Bobbie Welch of Vidor, sons James E. Welch, Jr and his wife Lisa of Lumberton, TX., Lewis Kim Welch and his wife Beverly of Hamshire, TX., daughter Debra Bowling and her husband Mark of Montgomery, TX., brother W.L. Welch of Mansfield, LA., six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
