James Toby Smith

October 3, 1923 — December 16, 2006

Toby L. Smith, 83, of Vidor died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at his residence in Vidor. A native of Brazoria, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Toby was a long time Coon Hunter, was a UKC and AKC dog breeder for many years and was a horse whisper. He attended Pine Forest Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. During WWII. Toby retired as a Boilermaker with Local Union #587. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday December 19, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with a private interment to follow. Visitation will begin at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home. Toby is survived by his step-sons: Leonard Smith, Sr and Ronnie Smith both of Vidor, TX, step-daughters: Sandra Farnsworth of Beaumont, TX, Judith Goff of Baton Rouge, LA, Connie Smith of Vidor, TX, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
