James Winston Sikes, Sr.

James “JW” Sikes, Sr., 73 of Vidor died Friday, August 20, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Logansport, LA., he has lived in Vidor since 1958, and retired as a pipefitter with Unocal after 35 years of faithful service. James proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Funeral services will be Monday, August 23, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Vidor, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. James is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Ruby Sikes of Vidor, son, James W. Sikes, Jr., of Vidor, daughters, Lisa Cleveland of Vidor, and Karen Kay Atkins of Fredericksburg, TX., six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
