Jimmie Andrew George

Jimmie A. George, 90, of Vidor died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at his residence. A native of Preston, OK., he has lived in Vidor since 1975 and was a retired self-employed welder. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII, and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home. Jimmie was preceded in death by his daughter Wanda LaValle, sister Marie Hopkins, and granddaughter Lydia Clement. He is survived by his wife Thelma Faye George of Vidor, son Jack George of Eunice, LA., daughters Sylvia Snowden of Jasper, Patsy Clement of Woodville, and Joy Miller of Roanoke, LA., thirteen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. He will be missed.
