Joann Thompson Long

Joann T. Long, 74, of Villa Rica, GA., died Friday, January 20, 2012 at her residence. A native of Silsbee, she lived in Vidor for 50+ years before moving to Villa Rica 6 months ago. Joann was a retired teacher from Pine Forest Elementary School in Vidor after 22+ years of service. Joann was an active member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor, and the Boy Scouts. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Silsbee at 12:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home. Joann is survived by her sons Bobby Wayne Thompson of Silsbee, Tim Thompson of Vidor, Earl Thompson III of Houston, and step-son Randy Long of Vidor, daughter Marianne James of Villa Rica, GA., sisters Dianne Holmon of Aransas Pass, and Suzanne Crain of Montgomery, IL., nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
