Joe Parker, Jr., 75, of Vidor died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. He was born June 29, 1934 at the families old home place in Jasper, which is designated in the Texas Family Land Heritage Program as a Century Farm. He has lived in Vidor since 1957, and was a retired operator with B.F. Goodrich Plant in Port Arthur, and owned a small engine repair shop Joes Mower and ATV. He loved recording music, dancing, and being with his family and friends, and making people smile. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with graveside services to be held at 2:00 p.m. at Byerly Campground Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Irma Parker, Sr., brother Lamar Parker and sister Margaret McWilliams. He is survived by his daughters Cheryl Parker Biddy and husband Robbie of Kountze, and Carol Parfait of Vidor, three grandchildren: Ricky Segrest, Roger Segrest and Cecilia Marsh, three great grandchildren: Monet Holmes, Tisha Segrest, and Deven Segrest, and one great-great grandchild JaCuincy Holmes.
