John 'Bob' Robert Barney, Sr.

Bob Barney, 73, of Vidor died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, TX. A native of Streator, Illinois, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vidor and served his country in the US Navy. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with burial to follow at 9:15 am Monday, December 9, 2013 at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, December 6, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Charles Victor and Louise Faith Barney, sister Carol Suzanne Lassus, brother David Lloyd Barney and Dennis Peter Barney and his granddaughter Lauren Rachelle Barney. He is survived by his wife Lynda Barney, sons John Robert Barney Jr and his wife Margaret Maurhoff of Rindge, NH, Mark Leslie Barney and his wife Tamra Lynne, Scot Alexander Barney and his wife Deborah Lynn all of Vidor, TX, daughter Kimberly Rachel Burch and her husband Mark Glen of Starks, LA, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
