John Henry Thornell

John Henry Thornell, 80 of Vidor died Friday, April 20th, 2018 at UTMB Hospital in Galveston, Texas. A native of Vidor, Texas, he was a lontime resident of Jacksonvill, FL, before moving back to Vidor 7 years ago. John attended First Baptist Church of Vidor, but was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. He was retired from the US Navy and served during the Vietnam conflict. John was a Merchant Marines for 30 years after retiring from the Navy. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. John is survived by his wife of 7 years Pat Lowery of Vidor, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Thornell and Martha Thornell Holland, brothers Victor Kaine Thornell and Walter Thornell, sister Carrie Franks.
