John Wayne Cleveland

John Wayne Cleveland, 72 yrs, of Lumberton, TX passed away on June 18th, 2021 after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Wayne was born October 22, 1948 to C.W. and Mattie Jo Cleveland in Beaumont, TX. He was raised in Vidor, TX. Wayne was a pipefitter/welder by trade and operated Cleveland Extracting Service and Cleveland Tree Service & Land Clearing. His passion was restoring classic cars and driving fast cars. He is survived by his special friend, Debby McGregor, his children, Angela and husband George Crafton of Nederland and Melissa and husband Charlie Payne of Crosby, TX, siblings, Bob and wife Joy Cleveland of Mauriceville, TX, Claude and wife Lana Cleveland of Montgomery, TX, and Mattie and husband Gary Miller of Austin, TX, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, C.W. and Mattie Jo Cleveland, infant sister Delores, and his grandparents. Arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor for cremation. Memorial service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor TX. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, in his honor, made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. www.pancan.org.
