John Willen Olivier, 74, of Vidor died Friday, March 25, 2016 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Opelousas, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. John Willen was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor where he performed numerous altar services and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served his country in the US National Guard. John was an avid fisherman and hunter, he also enjoyed woodworking and bingo. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and a Christian vigil at 7:00 pm Monday, March 28, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. John Willen was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Verna Olivier and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons Todd Olivier and his wife Theresa of Woodville, TX, Troy Olivier and his wife Chris of Rochester, NY, daughters Tammy Romero and her husband Dewey of Lumberton, TX, Rhonda Norman and her husband David of Vidor, TX, brother Lawrence Olivier of Carencro, LA, sister Joyce Benoit of Rayne, LA, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
