Louis Smith

Louis 'Lou' Smith of Vidor died Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Joaquin, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. He was a heavy equipment operator for Temple Inland for many years. A member of the North Main Church of Christ, VISD school board member for 9 years, Little League coach for 8 years and loved to play in his band, Lou Smith and the Skyliners. He is survived by his wife Bessie Smith, his sons Buddy, Ricky, Glenn, Hank and Tony Smith all of Vidor, TX. His daughters Linda Burnett, Diann Whitworth, and Judy Collier all of Vidor TX. Sisters Opaline Daniels of Joaquin, TX, Evelyn Gould of Mauriceville, TX. 21 Grandchildren and 22 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday October 23, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6pm Monday October 22, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home.
