L.R. Slim Evans

L.R. “Slim” Evans, 92, of Vidor died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Glenfawn, TX, he lived in Vidor for the past 56 years. Slim was Vice President for LaBauve Construction Company and was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in New Salem, TX. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home. Slim is survived by his wife of 63 years Oneta Evans of Vidor, TX, sons: Darrell Evans of Tomball, TX, Windell Evans of Vidor, TX, Danny Evans of Sourlake, TX, brother: James Evans of Ridgeland, MS, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
