Lavon Havens

Lavon Havens, 96 of Vidor died Sunday, April 5th, 2020 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. Lavon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was the Vidor High School Nurse for 27 years and the Secretary for the Music Department for 27 years before retiring. Lavon served her country during WWII in the Army Nursing Corp and was a prison guard during the Nuremberg trials. A private graveside service will be held at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Lavon is survived by her daughters Cheryl Anderson and her husband Dee of Normangee, TX, Suzanne Wojtowich of Vidor, TX, son Richard Mark Havens and his wife Christine of Fresno, CA, sister Betty Lou Van Pelt of Vidor, TX, 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her 7 brothers and sisters.
