Leland Alan 'Lee Alan' Portie

Lee Alan Portie, 70, of Vidor died March 17, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Lee Alan was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana June 10, 1939 to Leland and Ethel Portie. Lee Alan was raised in Hackberry, LA and was a longtime resident of Vidor. He worked at Mobil Chemical in Beaumont for 34 years and retired as a supervisor. Lee Alan has traveled the world with his family and work, he has worked in Saudi Arabia with Aramco and in Singapore with Mobil. He loved gardening and was an avid cook. Lee Alan was an Eagle Scout and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Hackberry Cemetery in Hackberry, LA. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home. Lee Alan is survived by his wife Lyndia Portie of Vidor, TX, sons Leland Thomas Portie and his wife Monica of Mauriceville, TX, Lee Alan Portie of Vidor, TX, daughter Sheila Garrett and her husband Danny of Vidor, TX, sister Vera Burleson of Sulphur, LA, grandchildren Darline Garrett, Dillon, Jake, Brenner and Carley Portie.
