Lonora Ann Leatherwood

Lonora A. Leatherwood, 68, of Vidor died Friday, August 21, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Lonora was born on April 18, 1941 in Beaumont, Texas to Orie and Ella Lavergne. Lonora retired from the Vidor post office after 15 years of service as a Postal Clerk. She was a longtime Vidor resident and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor. A funeral liturgy outside mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. and a Christian Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home. Lonora is survived by her husband James Leatherwood of Vidor, TX, son Jimmy Leatherwood of Buna, TX, daughters Debbie Hannah and Lori Dyess both of Vidor, TX, brother Jerry Lavergne of Buna, TX, sister Candy Jenkins of Fred, TX, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
