Luella Marie Broussard

Luella Broussard, 79, of Vidor died Monday, July 18, 2011 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Luella was born in Jeanerrete, LA, and was a longtime resident of Vidor. She graduated from Stark High School in Orange, TX and from St. Mary School of Nursing in Port Arthur, TX. She later worked at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Beaumont, TX, and was retired from Baptist Hospital as an RN after 23 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor ,and a past member of St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica in Beaumont, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was also involved in leadership positions with the Boy's and Girl's Scouts, where she received numerous awards. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and a rosary at 7:00 pm Friday, July 22, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Luella was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Raymond Broussard. She is survived by her sons Jerry Andrew Broussard of Nederland, TX, Alan Gregory Broussard of Vidor, TX, Charles Broussard Sr. and his wife Candie of Call, TX, Kenneth Broussard of Vidor, TX, daughter Cindy Emmert of Nederland, TX, brothers Clifford Bodin of Bridge City, TX, Joe Bodin of Orange, TX, and Frederick Bodin of Gilbert, AZ., sister Debbie Bodin Lane of Cypress, TX, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
