Luther Benjamin Rains

Luther B. Rains, 83, of Vidor died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at his residence. A native of Garrison, TX., he has lived in Vidor since 1970, and was a retired boilermaker with Jefferson Chemical/ Texaco Refinery. He served his country in the United States Navy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Pine Forest Baptist Church of Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary LaMerle Turnage. Luther is survived by his wife Mary Rains of Vidor, sons Mark Richard Rains and wife Susan of Deer Park, TX., and Mike Flowers Rains and wife Tammie of Vidor, daughter Mary Ann Rains Stowe and husband Kenneth of Houston, eight grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth Rodriguez and husband Frank, Renee Rains, Richard Rains, Stephen Rains, Leslie Rains, Allen Stowe, Joshua Rains and wife Devon, and Colin Rains, five great grandchildren: Nicholas Rains, Mason Rains, Megan Rains, Paige Rains, Noah Rains.
