Luther Paul Stewart, Sr.

May 26, 1925 — December 22, 2005

Luther P. Stewart, 80, of Orange died Thursday, December 22, 2005 at his residence. A native of Mt. Vernon, IL., he has lived in Orange for 13 years, and was a retired marine engineer with the Union-MEBA. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, and was a member of the Port Arthur Masonic Lodge #872. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2005 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his sons, George Lamar Stewart, and John Nash Stewart. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Margie Stewart of Orange, sons, Luther Paul Stewart, Jr and his wife JoAnn of Silsbee, TX., and William Douglas Stewart and his wife Anne Marie of Houston, TX., daughters, Dollie Beatrice Stewart of Wylie, TX., and Debra Josephine Stewart McElwee and her husband Kenneth of Orange, TX., brothers, J. R. “Bob” Stuart and his wife Octavia of Tallahassee, FL., and Stanley Stewart and his wife Peggy of Adylett, NC., sisters, Jean Adams and Rose Marie Daniels both of Hoby Sound, Fl., 10 grandchildren: Paul Stewart, Tommy Stewart, Bryan Kesman, Robert Stewart, Jennifer Herrin, Sylvia Ney, Pam Stewart, Mishelle Kesman Foor, Daniel Stewart, and Katherine Stewart, and 1 great-grandchild: Dylan Hooter.
