Margaret Eleanor Kirchmer

December 1, 1920 — October 5, 2009

Margaret E. Kirchmer, 88, of Vidor died Monday, October 5, 2009 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, she has been a Golden Triangle resident since 1946.

Margaret was a class of 1942 graduate of Agnes Scott College, in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked as a chemist for Dupont, where she met and married her supervisor (chemical engineer) Jack Kirchmer. After a few years in Richland, Washington, they moved to Port Arthur, and later Vidor. They were active members of the Golden Triangle camelia and orchid societies, and Our Lady of Lourdes Church for many years.
A Rite of Committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Jack Kirchmer, parents Harry and Charlie Wade, and sister Kathleen Medlock. She is survived by her sons John Thomas "Dr. Tom" Kirchmer, Jr., and his wife Dr. Nancy of Beaumont, and Robert James "Bob" Kirchmer and his wife Debbie of Tulsa, OK., four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

10:00 a.m. Graveside Service on Friday, October 9, 2009 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
